We had some visitors come last week from Texas! Two Flat Stanley’s joined us for an adventure in the Black Diamond Hills of California. My kids lugged the Flat Stanleys on a two hour hike in our local hills. We were on a Biology Fieldtrip looking at wildflowers and vegetation, so it lended itself for a fun trip for the Stanleys. It was fun to take pictures of the Stanleys enjoying the view.
What’s doubly nice is we happen to be working on letter writing with my 6th grader. Part of the honor of hosting the Flat Stanleys is you have to write back and tell the recipient about where his Flat Stanley went. So we not only got a hike out of it but we also reinforced letter writing.
It can’t get better than that!
